How We Improved Maternal Mental Health in 2023: Our Impact Report

Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) is dedicated to improving the mental health of our nation’s mothers and childbearing people by focusing on national policy and equity. Our small but mighty team—five full-time and five part-time staff—has garnered federal funding for maternal mental health programs, convened experts to advance solutions, and curated information to uplift the entire field. Here is a snapshot of our impact in 2023.

We Centered Racial & Health Equity in Our Work

We utilized our Racial Equity Framework to ensure that our work centers the communities experiencing racial and health disparities.

We included research on racial and health disparities in our Fact Sheets.

We centered the experiences of individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and abilities by prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our webinar series.

Thank you for helping us make 2023 a great year!  We are excited for all the progress we’ll make in 2024!
