MMHLA Advocacy Successes 2021

MMHLA is the only organization focused exclusively on advocating for national policy around maternal mental health. Our advocacy priorities for 2021 included increasing funding for grants to states to create programs to address MMH conditions, and increasing funding for a dedicated 24/7 MMH hotline.

MMHLA also developed and submitted over 30 recommendations in response to three Requests for Information about mental health from members of the Senate Finance Committee; hosted our annual Advocacy Day in March and annual Congressional briefing in May; authored four letters to Congress; and supported over ten letters to Congress from partner organizations.

Many thanks to our advocacy partner, Center Road Solutions, for helping us achieve these important advocacy “wins” in 2021.
