MMHLA’s Founder, Jamie Belsito, and Executive Director, Adrienne Griffen, speak to the tragedies in Duxbury, San Francisco, and New York

The recent tragedy in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where a mother who was reportedly struggling with her mental health ended the lives of her 3 children and attempted suicide, has reignited the conversation of maternal mental health across the nation.

Our Founder, Jamie Belsito, was invited by GBH — a local Boston, Massachusetts news station — to talk about the tragedy in Duxbury, MA.

Watch Belsito’s interview:

NPR’s Here and Now interviewed our Executive Director, Adrienne Griffen, about the difference between postpartum psychosis and postpartum depression as well as the disparities in media coverage of the mother in Duxbury compared to the mothers in San Francisco and New York — all of whom ended their children’s lives and had at least one child who was one-year-old or younger.
