Our Intern Program
We offer a unique intern program for graduate school students studying public policy or public health. Interns spend the academic year (September through April) learning about maternal mental health and contributing to our policy and programmatic work. Shamyah is currently interning at MMHLA while pursuing a Masters of Public Health at the University of Arizona.

2023-2024
Daria was a communications intern at MMHLA while pursuing her Master’s degree in public health at Florida International University. She is now a Communications Associate at MMHLA.

Maureen was a policy intern at MMHLA while pursuing her Master’s degree in public health at Brown University.

Jennie Scheerer
2022-2023
Jennie was an intern while double majoring to obtain her Master’s in Public Health and Public Policy at the University of Michigan She currently is a 2024 MPH/MPP Candidate at the University of Michigan.

Niaja was an intern while studying to obtain her Masters in Public Health from George Washington University. Now, she works as a freelance Public Health Officer.

Rana was an intern while studying at George Washington University and is now a senior clinical research coordinator at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Aminat Balogun
2020-2021
Aminat was an intern while studying at George Washington University. Following her internship, Aminat became MMHLA’s first Postgraduate Fellow and then first full-time employee.
